ANOINTED FOR A PURPOSE
BIBLE READING: ISAIAH 61:1-7
“Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee. 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 (NKJV).
You may be among the several Christians that have been anointed heavily by God but they are not doing anything with the anointing. They fast, pray, sow seeds and do whatever else they believe would facilitate their receiving the Anointing; and when the Anointing comes, they do nothing with it. The essence of the Anointing is beyond making you to pray in robust tongues and fell cool. Our Bible reading today, sheds some light on the real purpose of the anointing God has bestowed upon your life. You can therefore personalise this declaration and say; “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound” Isaiah 61:1(KJV).
The primary reason you have been anointed is to empower you to preach the Gospel; heal the broken-hearted and proclaim liberty to the captives. Other purposes of the anointing were also spelt out in the passage. Put in other words, you have been anointed to solve problems. If you find yourself anywhere and things are going wrong there, don’t look for whom to blame because you carry the solution to that problem.
You deploy the solution you carry through speaking, preaching, praying and providing services to meet the needs of others. If you fail to do these consistently, then you are wasting the most precious Gift and help God has given to man. If you carry the solution to a problem and fail to apply it; you become as culpable for the problem or more than whatever had caused the problem.
Praise God. Proclaim liberty for the captives; open the doors for the prisoners; declare healing for the sick.
I carry the solutions to the plight of my generation.
