DEALING WITH THE FOUR HORNS

BIBLE READING: ZECHARIAH 1:16-21

“Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favour My righteous cause; and let them say continually, “Let the LORD be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.” Psalm 35:27(NKJV)

One of the greatest lies the devil has sold to many Christians is the notion that prosperity is not God’s Perfect Will. Because of this, a myriad of pious saints have shortchanged the Lord Jesus Christ by doing without what is rightfully theirs. The Bible declares that, “…all things are yours”(1Cor. 3:21). Prosperity inclusive. However, there are often forces responsible for keeping many believers in a perpetual financial limbo.

It is imperative that we contextualise this issue in order to obtain a proper understanding. The Southern Kingdom of Judah was held captive for seventy years by the Babylonian Empire, after which King Cyrus the Persian issued them a proclamation of emancipation: “Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the Word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and also put it in writing…”(2Chronicles 36:22)

By virtue of the above proclamation, they were liberated and received royal permission to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. However, seventy years of slavery had left them in need of emancipation from mental and spiritual slavery. The prophets Haggai and Zechariah were then sent by God to help them become prosperous yet again. It was during one of his God-given visions that the latter saw the root cause of their predicament. Zechariah’s eyes were opened to see four demonic horns sent by satan to scatter Judah “so that no one could lift up his head.” (Zechariah 1:21b). It was because of these horns, that the people suffered from “near-success syndrome.” The solution sent by the Lord was the ministry of the four Carpenters, assigned to terrify the four horns. After waging this warfare successfully, the result was that, “they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo…”(Ezra 6:14).

Are you experiencing a near-success syndrome? How many tantalizing prospects and job opportunities have slipped right through your fingers before your very eyes? If symptoms persist even “when your obedience is fulfilled” according to 2Corinthians 10:6b(NKJV), then it is time to bind the four horns over your finances. Lift up the rod of your spiritual authority and place an injunction over the forces of desolation and delay hovering over your prosperity. Release the four Carpenters to deal with the four horns over your life.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, we give You all the Glory. We thank You, O Lord for taking pleasure in our prosperity. We exercise authority over the four horns seeking to prevent us from distinction and promotion. Thank You for the Victory, our Father, in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ.
