FOLLOWING GOD’S PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE
BIBLE READING: JEREMIAH 29:11; PSALM 37:23
“There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the Lord’s Counsel—that will stand.” Proverbs 19:21(KJV)
The safest and most secure place to be is right in the Centre of God’s Will for your life. With each passing generation, we see multitudes running from pillar to post in a bid to find fulfilment. Everyday, we see people involved in unhealthy competition whereby they undermine others in the process of finding significance. The Scripture tells us that such people “comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.” (2Corinthians 10:12b) What such fellows fail to realize is that even those who win the rat race are still rats.
The Lord God Almighty is a God of Plans, Purpose and Objectivity. He is the Creator-Supreme Who began the beginning itself. The Bible reminds us of this truth in Isaiah 46:9-10:
“Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying “My Counsel shall stand, and I will do all My Pleasure.”
Think about this for a moment:God declares the end from the beginning because He wrote the script Himself. His Counsel and Plans take Preeminence over everything else. When you decide to follow His Plan for your life, therein lies your fulfilment and provision because God is under an obligation to fund His Purpose rather than your own plans.
The sad reality on ground is that there are too many square pegs in round holes as far as Divine Purpose is concerned. Following God’s Plan for your life gives you a massive amount of leverage in the journey of life. This then begs the question: Whose plans are you following? The Lord grant us grace to answer correctly and make the necessary adjustments.
Father in Heaven, we glorify Your Holy Name for Your Wisdom. Grant us the grace, O Lord, to always follow Your Plans for our lives in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen.
