FORGET THE FORMER THINGS

“Do not remember the former things or ponder the things of the past. “Listen carefully, I am about to do a new thing, now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it? I will even put a road in the wilderness, rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:18-19 (AMP)

Are you a quiet victim of hurt and pain? Are you so broken from life experiences that you fail to push and move forward into what lies ahead? Today you are admonished to be courageous, faithful and confident in the Lord your God. Inside you, resides God’s Spirit which strengthens your inner man to keep moving towards the actualization of the perfect will of God for your life. One of the deadliest perils that people face today is a shift from the truth and knowledge of God to personal experiences; thereby judging God to be unfaithful. People are so conscious of their losses and suffering that they begin to lose their spiritual power and place in Christ Jesus. The Bible opined because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. (Matthew 24:12). As the pressures to compromise and conform to the standard of this world takes a new dimension, let your faith in God never dwindle or wane.

Most of God’s people are currently going through the refining tools (losing, suffering, sacrificing and dying) in the form of rejection, divorce, loss of job, poverty, loss of a loved one etc. Whilst in the process, many may decide to isolate themselves from the brethren and God in a bid to carry their cross alone. Such seclusion will degenerate to sadness, depression and thereafter they will begin to ponder on suicide in a bid to end such suffering and depression. We have been admonished not to neglect the gathering of the brethren- not forsaking our meeting together [as believers for worship and instruction], as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more [faithfully] as you see the day [of Christ’s return] approaching (Heb 10:25). The devil’s mission is to steal kill and destroy (John 10:10). Please guard your heart and joy jealously because the devil does not want you to be victorious while passing through the furnace of affliction.

God is calling you today to look unto Him as your Shepherd and Guardian. Apostle Paul who suffered greatly for the Gospel of Christ and recounted all his sorrows (2 Cor. 11:23-27) admonished us to forget the former things and look forward to the prize – “Brothers and sisters, I do not consider that I have made it my own yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the [heavenly] prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Phil 3:13-14)

Awake mighty man of valor and soldier of the Cross; march forward into God ordained victory that was obtained on the Cross by Jesus Christ. Do not look back like Lot’s Wife (Gen 19:26) and miss your prize. Today as you have read this devotional, harden not your heart or look back in defeat. God is saying to you right now; remember My faithfulness, I am too faithful to fail and I will never leave nor forsake you. Stand firm, go through the process and come out as refined vessel of honor to show forth the Father’s glory to the world.

PRAYER:
Father thank you for this revelation and the light of your word that has flooded my heart. Forgive me for looking behind and not taking the required steps of faith. I receive grace and supernatural empowerment to march forward and do your will in my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
