HOW TO END THE YEAR PROPERLY
You crown the year with Your goodness, And Your paths drip with abundance. Psalms 65:11(NKJV).
King Solomon, the wisest man on record that lived on planet earth propounded that, the end of a thing is better than the beginning (Ecclesiastes 7:8). Kingdom principles are time-tested and does not respect anyone but delivers the desired results to the people that diligently apply them. As we approach the end of the year 2020, it is important that we understand the principles on how to end the year right. If we want our year to end with goodness and abundance, then we must apply certain principles and do certain things to end the year properly. We will discuss some of these principles to gain further insight:
1. REPENTANCE: Repentance is a 180-degree turn around. This is the very first action we must set in motion as the year gradually winds down to a close. Recall your activities throughout the year; repent of all wrong doing and even every omission or inaction that stopped you from accessing God’s best for you this year. When you repent, God gives you the grace to accomplish more at the end than in the beginning. II Chronicles 7:14: If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. There is power in genuine repentance and not just emotional reactions.
2. RESTITUTION: After repentance, the next thing you must do is restitution. Restitution entails taking steps to restore the people or things that your action or inaction may have affected negatively. Are there people you have hurt this year, are there things you need to return to their rightful owners, are there wrongs you did to people that you need to make right? Then do it before the end of the year. Restitution shows that you have truly repented and reorganizes things in your favour.
Engage the Spirit of God to guide your actions and order your steps so you don’t make blunders in a bid to make restitution. Seek counsel from God and men in positions of authority before taking steps to make restitution.
Are there things you need to repent of as the year ends, repent of them quickly and restitute where occasion demands. Return whatever was stolen and help heal the heart you hurt and see God move mightily for you as the year ends.
