IN YOUR LIGHT, WE SHALL SEE LIGHT
BIBLE READING: PSALM 36:9; JOB 42:1-6
“So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King,The Lord of Hosts.” Isaiah 6:5(NKJV)
One of the greatest revelations every true believer must endeavour to catch is the Revelation of God’s Glory. Many ministers of the Gospel are so ensnared in the trap of self-righteousness that they lose sight of how insignificant they really are against the Backdrop of His Splendour. Of a truth, our righteousness is like “a menstrual rag” (Isaiah 64:6 Common English Bible) the moment we view Him in His Glory.
The prophet Isaiah was quite zealous in his generous dishing out of “woes” to different nations from chapter one to chapter five. However, just a glimpse of the Glory of the Lord being heralded by the Seraphim made him turn the gun on himself and pull the trigger, saying “Woe is me…” (Isaiah 6:5a). How astonishing it must have been for him to realize how worthless he was compared with the Glorious Lord! How ironic his Revelation of the Incorruptible King came the same year King Uzziah succumbed to leprosy!
David understood this when he said “For with You is the Fountain of Life; in Your Light we see light.” (Psalm 36:9). What does this mean? It means that we can only see things as they really are from God’s Own Perspective which is entirely Flawless. There may be many views but there is only one Hill view. The Lord grant us the heart and humility to see things entirely from God’s Vantage Point.
Heavenly Father, thank You for opening our eyes to this Truth. Cause us, O Lord, to see every area of life from Your Own View Point in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
