NOTHING FINISHES IN THE HANDS OF A THANKS GIVER
BIBLE READING: JOHN 6:1-15
“And He took the seven loaves and the fish and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitude. So they all ate and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets full of the fragments that were left.” Mathew 15:36-37(NKJV).
Thanksgiving has a multiplier effect when done with understanding and with Faith. We give thanks because we are acknowledging a superior being who is the source of the provision and able to sustain and multiply the available provision.
Jesus had understanding of the multiplier effect of thanks giving hence its deployment in the days of lack and not having enough. The feeding of the five and four thousand people respectively were proof of God’s ability to multiply His available provision when we thank Him for the available provision and by Faith believe Him for more.
In the events where Jesus fed the multitudes, because He gave thanks to God and believed the Father for multiplication of what is available, the Apostles moved from lack or not having enough to the realm of abundance and excess provisions supernaturally instead of the little provision to finish and not be enough logically.
We are encouraged to always give thanks at all times in all situation. Phil 4:6 “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with THANKSGIVING let your requests be made known unto God. Our requests and prayer are incomplete without the vital ingredient of THANKS GIVING.
Giving thanks is an expression of the state of the heart of a receiver. An attitude and life style of thanks Giving attracts greater attention from God or men who made the previous provision. Our thankful heart can also lead to the multiplication of the existing provision available.
As the year 2020 gradually wind up, maintain an attitude of thanks Giving to God and men who blessed your life irrespective of what you experienced this year. Do not murmur, complain or compare yourself with others, but be thankful for all you have and most importantly is the gift of Life which you are privileged to have despite the pandemic.
Take out time to reflect and list all the provision and increase that God made available to you this year. While giving God thanks for the provisions, remember to thank the channels or human vessels God used in making the provisions available to you in this season.
