“Knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” 2 Peter 3:3-4 (NKJV)

The coming of Jesus is an imminent reality. No matter how long it takes, Jesus will come back for the Church at the rapture to take the saints to be with Him. God has a plan, a calendar of events that have guided activities on earth. From Genesis chapter 3, God began to prophesy about the coming of Christ. All the prophets in the Bible spoke about the coming of Christ; some would have given up after decades, generations and centuries but the promise of God came to pass at the appointed time. When men least expected, Jesus came into the earth.

Today, there are several people confusing others that God doesn’t exist and that there is nothing like the rapture; the Bible called them scoffers. They have overthrown the faith of many and caused them to live their lives without restraints believing no one will hold them accountable for their actions or omissions. These set of people take the patience of God for granted. God wants the gospel to reach all the ends of the earth because He desires to give very people group the opportunity to hear the gospel and make personal decisions concerning their salvation in Jesus Christ. “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9(NKJV).

Just like it was in the days of Noah, as they watched him build the ark, they mocked and laughed at him asking him for the rain; Noah however, believed God who spoke to him and rejected the counsel of the scoffers (Matthew 24:37-39; 2 Pet. 2:5). You must stand on the conviction of God’s word and believe it above every other word from any other man/group of people. Apostle Paul said, if any man or even an angel preaches a contrary gospel, let him be accursed. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. Galatians 1:8(NKJV).

The scoffers are one of the groups of people the enemy will use in orchestrating the great falling away the Bible prophesied about. Make no mistake, no matter how long we wait, the rapture will definitely happen because our salvation is now closer than when we first believed – “And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.” Romans 13:11(NKJV).

Run away from the assembly of scoffers. Do not keep company with anyone who does not believe in God or the end time prophetic calendar; if you do, you would live your life carelessly and end up in eternal damnation. You should be a true minister of the Gospel by persuading men because of the impending danger and terror of God at the close of this age – “Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences. (2 Cor. 5:11NKJV).

Thank You Lord for Your word, the spiritual intelligence about these last days we live in. Please help me not to dwell in the assembly of scoffers. I believe in You and Your word, and I commit to live prepared for the rapture of the church.
