STRENGTH IN TIMES OF WEAKNESS
BIBLE READING: 2 CORINTHIANS 12:1-10
“He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: but they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:29-31(NKJV).
God works in ways that man cannot fully comprehend. Over and over, He proved in His word that He does not see as men see. What men despise and treat with contempt have often found special favour in His sight. In the time of his weakness, God visited Gideon and took him to a height he never envisaged. When David was given no chance at all, God sought him out from the wilderness and crowned him king. From where Joseph was languishing in jail, God picked him up and set him up as the king’s special adviser.
One encounter is enough for God to pick you up and take you to a height you never anticipated. Even when men have counted you for nothing. God proves constantly that He chooses the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and He chooses the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty.
Come before God today in humility and tell Him you are the next candidate for His special touch. Though you may not know how exactly to enter into the special things He has prepared for you, yield to His all-knowing Spirit and ask Him to renew your strength and guide you to His perfect plan for your life.
Pray the following prayers with fervency:
• In every area of my weakness, Lord, strengthen me.
• In every area that I lack knowledge, precious Holy Spirit, teach me.
• In every area that I am confused, precious Lord, sharpen my vision.
• Work in my life in such a way that changes that will take place in me can only be made possible by Your mighty helping hand.
When I seem to be down and out, that’s when God’s mighty power helps me most. I am never alone.
